Crisp Oatmeal Quicks
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
- 1 c. cornflakes or wheat flakes
- choice of 1/2 c. raisins, chopped nuts, 1 c. chocolate chips
- Cream together shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Blend in beaten eggs.
- Gradually blend in mixture of flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Fold in oatmeal, then cornflakes and vanilla.
- Add one of the choice ingredients.
- Blend choice in well and drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Yields 6 dozen.
