Curried Fruit(Serves 8 To 12)
- 1 (29 oz.) can pear halves, drained and quartered
- 1 (29 oz.) can peach halves, drained and quartered
- 1 (29 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained
- 1 can apricot halves, drained
- 1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 small jar maraschino cherries, drained
- pitted prunes, if desired
- 1/2 c. toasted almond halves
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. curry powder
- dash of cinnamon
- dash of allspice
- dash of nutmeg
- Melt butter; add brown sugar, salt, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, curry powder, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Butter baking dish and dust with flour.
- Arrange fruit in dish and spread with butter/sugar mixture over all.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour at 325u0b0.
