Savory Patties
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. minced onion
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 c. fine bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1/4 c. water
- Combine meat, salt, onion, mustard, 1/4 cup crumbs, egg and Worcestershire sauce.
- Mix very well and shape into 6 patties.
- Put the 1/2 cup crumbs on a piece of waxed paper and press patties onto it so the crumbs adhere to the outside.
- Heat the oil in a frypan. Brown patties on both sides.
- Turn down heat.
- Drain off any fat from pan.
- Open soup and add 1/4 cup water.
- Pour over patties. Simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Serve with cooked egg noodles. Sprinkle with chopped chives.
- You can substitute turkey for all or part of beef.
