Leslie Vinkler'S Barbecue Sauce For Barbecued Beef
- 1/2 c. Crisco oil or less
- 3/4 c. chopped onions
- 3/4 c. tomato catsup and tomato sauce (each)
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. mustard
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper and paprika
- 1 c. black coffee (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce (optional)
- 1/3 stick margarine
- about 10 lb. meat
- 1 Tbsp. allspice, cloves and whole pepper
- 1 whole onion, chopped
- several cloves garlic
- 3 tsp. salt
- 1 lemon
- Cook onions in oil until soft, then add all ingredients (except last 4 ) and cook (simmer) over charcoal for 30 minutes or more.
