Bread And Butter Pickles(Dietetic)

  1. Combine cucumbers, onions and garlic in large bowl.
  2. Sprinkle with salt.
  3. Cover with ice cubes.
  4. Let stand overnight.
  5. Drain well.
  6. Combine remaining ingredients, except liquid artificial sweetener.
  7. Add cucumber mixture.
  8. Bring to a boil.
  9. Cover and boil gently for 2 minutes.
  10. Stir in sweetener.
  11. Remove garlic clove.
  12. Spoon into sterile jars.
  13. Seal.
  14. Yield: 5 cups. Exchanges: 1/2 cup = 1 vegetable and contains 28 calories.
