German Sweet Chocolate Cake

  1. Melt chocolate in boiling water; cool.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolks, one at a time.
  4. Beat well after each.
  5. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix well.
  6. Sift together flour, soda and salt.
  7. Add alternately with buttermilk to chocolate mixture.
  8. Pour into three 8 or 9-inch pans.
  9. Line pans with wax paper.
  10. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
  11. Cool.
  12. Frost cake with Coconut Pecan Frosting.
