Christmas Cake From Australia

  1. Cream the margarine and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
  2. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients together, except for the baking powder. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately.
  3. Fold in preserves and pineapple.
  4. Last, add dates, cherries, raisins and pecans.
  5. Bake in 4 layers at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
  6. May take a little longer.
  7. When cold, put together with filling.
