Thirty-Six Lady Prune Cake
- 12 oz. pitted prunes (about 2 c.)
- 2/3 c. hot water
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- Buttermilk Glaze
- chopped nuts and whole, pitted prunes for garnish
- In
- electric
- blender, combine prunes and water.
- Blend until smooth, scraping sides of container as needed.
- Combine prunes and
- remaining
- ingredients
- except glaze and garnish. Mixtntil thoroughly blended.
- Turn into greased and floured 12-cup tube pan.
- Baketn

- oven 65 to 70 minutes or until cake
- is springy to the touch and toothpick inserted in center comes
- out clean.
- Cool
- cake in pan 10 minutes.
- Turn out onto
- serving plate and pierce all over with fork.
- Slowly pour
- glaze
- over cake.
- Garnish
- astesired
- with remaining prunes and nuts.
