Asparagus Strata

  1. Using a doughnut cutter, cut 12 circles and holes from bread; set aside.
  2. Tear remaining bread in pieces and place in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Layer cheese, asparagus and ham over torn bread; arrange bread circles and holes in top.
  4. Lightly beat eggs with milk.
  5. Add onion, salt and mustard; mix well. Pour egg mixture over bread circles and holes.
  6. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
  7. Bake, uncovered, at 325u0b0 for 55 minutes or until top is light golden brown.
  8. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
