Stuffed Peppers
- 6 large green peppers
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 large onion, minced
- 3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. bread crumbs or cooked rice
- 1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
- Cut off top of each pepper.
- Remove seeds.
- Cover peppers in boiling, salt water and cook 5 minutes.
- Drain.
- Cook beef, onion and garlic in skillet over medium heat; stir to crumble meat.
- Add tomatoes and simmer 10 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients, except bread crumbs, and stir well.
- Stuff peppers with beef mixture. Place in shallow baking dish and top with bread crumbs.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 minutes.
