Applesauce Cake
- 3 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 sticks softened oleo
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. unsweetened applesauce
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 c. raisins
- 2 c. confectioners sugar
- 4 Tbsp. apple juice or milk
- Stir flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt together.
- Beat butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy.
- Stir with flour mixture alternating with applesauce, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
- Fold in walnuts and raisins.
- Bake in tube pan at 350u0b0 for 1 hour, 10 minutes.
- Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan and cool to room temperature.
- Spoon glaze made of confectioners sugar and apple juice over top of cake.
