Pumpkin Walnut Bread Pudding With Kentucky Bourbon Sauce
- 1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. unsalted butter (at room temperature) in all
- 1 c. half and half
- 1 1/2 c. heavy cream
- 5 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp. grated orange zest
- 5 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 6 Tbsp. light brown sugar, in all
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh ginger
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp. Grand Marnier
- 2 c. cooked and mashed pumpkin
- 8 slices white bread, with crusts, torn into 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 2 c. Kentucky Bourbon Sauce (recipe follows)
- fresh mint sprigs
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Lightly grease an 8-cup ovenproof casserole dish or mold with 2 teaspoons of the butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the half and half, cream, eggs and orange zest.
