Hungarian Beef
- 1 1/2 lb. round steak
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- 8 oz. egg noodles, cooked according to pkg. directions
- Cut round steak into strips about 2 x 1/2-inches.
- Heat heavy frying pan to very hot.
- Add meat and stir to begin browning.
- Add onion and cook until beef is browned.
- Add garlic.
- Reduce heat to medium.
- Add 1 cup water, catsup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, paprika and mustard.
- Simmer until meat is tender, about 30 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch and 1/4 cup water, add to meat mixture and stir until sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and pour over noodles.
