Tamale Pie
- 2 lb. hamburger
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole kernel corn
- 16 oz. (2 c.) canned tomatoes, drain and keep juice to use later
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- cayenne pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
- 1/4 c. sweet pepper flakes
- Cook hamburger until done and drain.
- Add all remaining ingredients to hamburger.
- Let cook until you cook your yellow cornmeal; mush.
- Mix 5 cups boiling water, 1 cup tomato juice, a little cayenne pepper, and a little salt.
- Add 2 cups yellow cornmeal, stirring slowly constantly until thick.
- Line a 3-quart casserole dish with corn mush, it will be thick, then pour all in skillet.
- Then put the rest of meal on top.
- Bake, uncovered, in oven at 375u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Serve with grated Cheddar cheese.
