Sweet And Sour Meatballs(Yields 25 Servings)
- 1 (8 1/4 oz.) pineapple tidbits
- water
- 1 (8 oz.) whole cranberry sauce
- 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 5 lb. bag frozen meat balls
- 1/2 c. green pepper (optional)
- Drain pineapple tidbits, reserving syrup.
- Set pineapple aside. Add water to reserved syrup to make 1/4 cup liquid.
- Combine syrup mixture, can of cranberry sauce, bottled barbecue sauce, salt and pepper.
- Pour over meatballs.
- Bring to boiling.
- Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
- Blend 1/4 cup cold water into 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
- Stir into skillet.
- Cook and stir until thick.
- Add pineapple and 1/2 cup green pepper strips.
- Simmer covered until green pepper is barely tender.
- Serve as appetizers or may be served over hot cooked rice.
