Rocks(Fruit Drop Cookies)
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, sifted
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sift before measuring
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water or sherry
- 1 c. broken nutmeats
- 1 c. raisins, figs, apricots or citron
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Cream sugar and butter, adding sugar gradually.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Resift flour along with soda, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and salt.
- Add sifted ingredients in 3 parts to the butter mixture, alternately with water or sherry.
- Beat the batter until it is smooth after each addition. Stir in fruits.
- Drop batter from a teaspoon onto a greased tin. Bake about 12 minutes.
