Strawberry Nut Bread
- 1 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. lemon juice
- 4 eggs
- 3 c. bread flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 c. strawberry jam
- 1/2 c. plain yogurt
- 1 c. walnut pieces
- In mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, vanilla and lemon juice until fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir together thoroughly flour, salt, cream of tartar and soda.
- Combine strawberry jam and yogurt.
- Add jam mixture alternately with dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beating until well combined.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Divide batter among five greased and floured 4 x 2 x 1-inch loaf pans.
- Bake at 350u0b0
- until done, 50 to 55 minutes.
- Cool 10 minutes in pans; remove from pans. Cool on racks.
- Makes 5 loaves.
