Party Green Beans
- 4 (20 oz.) cans cut or whole green beans
- 4 tsp. margarine
- 4 tsp. white flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 pt. sour cream
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 c. cornflakes, crushed
- Cook and drain beans.
- Make white sauce by melting margarine, adding flour, salt, pepper and sugar and forming a paste.
- Stir in sour cream and grated onion.
- Add green beans to white sauce. Place half of beans in greased 2-quart casserole; layer half of Swiss and Cheddar cheese and place remaining beans on top of cheese, then layer other half of cheeses on top of beans. Sprinkle crushed cornflakes on top of cheese.
- Bake 30 minutes at 350u0b0.
- Serves 10 to 12.
