Hamburg Casserole
- 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck or round
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. medium noodles
- 1 (8 oz.) sour cream
- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1 bunch scallions or medium onion, grated
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 large clove garlic or garlic salt (optional)
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 8 oz. grated American cheese
- Take cream cheese out of refrigerator a few hours before to soften.
- Cook noodles and set aside.
- Put cream cheese together with sour cream.
- Cook beef, onion, oregano, garlic and salt to taste.
- Brown, then drain off grease.
- After browning, add tomato sauce and simmer.
- Layer in casserole noodles, meat and cream cheese.
- Cover with grated cheese and bake 1/2 hour at 350u0b0 (1 hour if frozen).
