Pasta Broccoli Toss

  1. In large sauce pan, cook rotini as directed in boiling salt water for 6 minutes.
  2. Add broccoli, cook 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Drain. Reserve 1/4 c. of the liquid.
  4. Return pasta to pan.
  5. Meanwhile heat oil in saucepan; add pepper, onion and garlic, cook about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in reserved liquid, salt, pepper and sugar; bring to a boil.tour mixture over pasta and broccoli mixture; add tomatoes, basil and cheese.
  7. Toss and serve.
  8. Serves 4.
