Spanish Beefburger
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- few drops Tabasco sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. onion salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 6 medium size tomatoes
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
- salt and pepper
- 1 c. thinly sliced onion rings
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 1 c. catsup
- Combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, Tabasco sauce, onion, salt and pepper.
- Shape into one large patty.
- Place on broiler pan; broil 3 inches from source of heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Cut tomatoes in half; scoop 1 tablespoon pulp out of each half.
- Mix pulp with cheese and green pepper.
- Sprinkle each half with salt and pepper.
- Stuff tomatoes lightly with cheese mixture.
- Turn meat and place tomatoes on rack.
- Broil 5 minutes. Cook onion rings in butter until brown.
- Pour catsup over meat. Place onions on meat; continue broiling for 5 minutes.
