Strawberry Angel Squares
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 egg whites
- 1c. sugar
- 1 small carton whipping cream, whipped
- 1 pt. frozen strawberries, thawed
- Combine
- flour, sugar, nuts and butter; spread into a 9 x 13-inch
- baking
- pan.
- Bake
- 20
- minutes
- at 350u0b0, stirring occasionally.
- Crumble
- when
- cool.
- Reserve
- 1/3
- of this for topping.
- Spread remainder back into the pan.
- Combine unbeaten egg
- whites,
- sugar and lemon juice in a large bowl.
- Beat for 10 minutes.
- Fold in whipped cream and strawberries.
- Pour over the crumbled mixture.
- Add topping; freeze 6 hours before serving.
