Good Christmas Candy

  1. Fix fruit and nuts; set aside.
  2. Combine sugar, syrup, cream and salt; bring to boil, stirring until all sugar is dissolved. Stop stirring.
  3. Continue boiling until mixture forms medium hard ball in cold water or 231u0b0.
  4. Remove from heat and beat immediately with electric mixer.
  5. Beat until thick and creamy and candy holds form.
  6. Add vanilla, fruit and nuts.
  7. Press in glass pans or pans lined with foil.
  8. Let cool and cut.
  9. This is moist and keeps for weeks.
  10. Makes 4 pounds.
  11. Better as it ages.
