Tabouli(Wheat Garden Salad)
- 1 c. bulgur wheat
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/4 c. green onions, chopped
- 1 bunch parsley, chopped fine
- 1 large tomato, chopped
- 1 (2 1/4 oz.) can black olives, sliced
- dash of cayenne pepper
- In medium bowl pour boiling water over bulgur wheat.
- Let sit for 30 minutes.
- Mix in a shaker oil, lemon juice, salt, garlic powder, oregano and cayenne pepper; shake well.
- Mix bulgur wheat and vegetables and pour in oil mixture.
- Mix well and chill several hours before serving.
- Serve on a bed of lettuce.
- Serves about 6 a generous portion.
