Shish Kebabs
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. red wine
- 3 bay leaves, crumbled
- 2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 6 lb. chuck steak, cut in 1 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 lb. large mushrooms
- 9 medium white onions, peeled and quartered
- 6 large green peppers, cut in 1 x 1-inch pieces
- 1 pt. cherry tomatoes
- In a bowl, stir together first 6 ingredients to make marinade. Place steak cubes in a large, shallow pan.
- Pour marinade over steak. Stir to coat.
- Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours. Stir occasionally.
- Fill 12 long skewers.
- Skewer meat and vegetables, beginning and ending with meat.
- Broil or grill for a total of 15 to 20 minutes, turning once.
- Brush with marinade while cooking. Oil long skewers.
