Country-Style Barbecued Ribs

  1. In large pot, cover ribs with water and bring to boil.
  2. Cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes or until tender.
  3. Drain.
  4. Cook onion in hot oil until tender and stir in garlic.
  5. Stir in remaining ingredients except ribs and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes stirring once or twice.
  6. Grill ribs over low coals about 45 minutes or until done, turning every 15 minutes and brushing with sauce.
  7. Serves 6.
