Country-Style Barbecued Ribs
- 4 lbs. pork country-style ribs
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp prepared mustard
- 1 tsp celery salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- In large pot, cover ribs with water and bring to boil.
- Cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes or until tender.
- Drain.
- Cook onion in hot oil until tender and stir in garlic.
- Stir in remaining ingredients except ribs and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes stirring once or twice.
- Grill ribs over low coals about 45 minutes or until done, turning every 15 minutes and brushing with sauce.
- Serves 6.
