Great Balls 'O' Fire
- 2 lb. ground chuck or ground round
- 1/2 c. dry plain breadcrumbs
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 (12 oz.) bottle Heinz chili sauce
- 1 (10 oz.) jar grape jelly
- Combine the first six ingredients; mix well and shape into one-inch balls.
- Brown meatballs in a large skillet with hot oil until lightly browned; drain meatballs in a colander sitting on a dish and discard drippings.
- Combine chili sauce and grape jelly in skillet; cook over medium heat until jelly has melted.
- Stir occasionally to keep from burning or sticking.
- Add meatballs and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes; transfer sauce and meatballs to a crock-pot or chafing dish to keep warm.
