Kohlrabi-Gemuse(German)

  1. Peel and
  2. slice kohlrabi.
  3. Take green, young leaves off stems and
  4. cook
  5. separately
  6. in
  7. small
  8. pot
  9. with boiling salt water. Drain
  10. this
  11. water.
  12. Set
  13. cooked leaves aside and chop finely. Cook sliced kohlrabi in salt water for a few minutes. Do not overcook.
  14. In
  15. Crisco,
  16. brown
  17. onion and parsley;
  18. add flour. Brown
  19. slightly;
  20. add
  21. kohlrabi water or beef broth or just plain water to make a sauce.
  22. Add bouillon cube, stirring constantly over low
  23. heat.
  24. If
  25. needed, add salt and pepper to taste.tdd kohlrabi
  26. slices.
  27. Carefully
  28. stirto
  29. as not to break up slices. Let
  30. cometo
  31. a low boil for only a minute. Serve with beef steak and fried potatoes.
