Baked Beans

  1. Soak
  2. beans
  3. overnight
  4. in cold water.
  5. In the morning, pick out bad ones.
  6. Drain beans.
  7. In a large pot, put new cold water and the beans.
  8. Bring to boil.
  9. Add 1 teaspoon of soda. Boil up to lip.
  10. Drain and rinse.
  11. Put new cold water (just to cover
  12. all), beans, chopped onion, salt and salt pork in pot. Bring
  13. to
  14. boil. Cover and simmer on medium.
  15. Add 2 teaspoons of mustard and 1 cup of white sugar.
  16. Stir.
  17. Pour into a large bowl.
  18. Stir
  19. and sprinkle
  20. with
  21. paprika.
  22. Bake at 400u0b0 until bubbly,
  23. 1
  24. to
  25. 5 minutes.
  26. Turn oven to 350u0b0.
  27. Bake for 1 1/2 hours
  28. until
  29. 1/4
  30. to 1/2-inch juice is left.
  31. Set on counter until thickens.
