Baked Ziti
- 1/2 lb. smoked sausage
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 1 c. green pepper strips
- 1/3 c. chopped onions
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 c. milk
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 3 c. ziti
- In a large pan, brown sausage.
- Slice into coin size pieces. Remove from pan and drain.
- Melt margarine and cook mushrooms, green pepper and onions until tender (but do not brown).
- Blend flour into vegetable mixture.
- Gradually stir in milk.
- Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until it begins to boil. Blend in cheese until melted.
- Cook ziti; drain.
- Stir hot ziti, cheese, vegetables and sausage together.
- Pour into 2-quart buttered dish.
- Bake at 350u0b0, covered, for 30 minutes.
- Makes about 6 servings.
