Meatball Sub Casserole
- 1/3 c. chopped green onions
- 1/4 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- 3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. loaf Italian bread cut into 1-inch slices
- 8 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise, regular kind not fat-free or light
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. shredded mozzarella, divided
- 28 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 c. water
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- Combine onions, crumbs, Parmesan and beef.
- Make 1-inch balls, bake on rack in 400u0b0 oven for 20 minutes or until done.
- Arrange bread in single layer in ungreased 13 x 9 pan.
- Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning and pepper, spread on bread, sprinkle with 1/2 c. mozzarella.
- Combine meatballs, sauce, water and garlic, pour over bread and cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle with rest of mozzarella.
- Bake uncovered at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes or until heated through.
- This is easier to eat than a meatball sub!
