Barbecued Spareribs

  1. Place spareribs in shallow baking pan.
  2. Roast, uncovered, in a moderate oven at 350u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
  3. Pour off fat.
  4. Melt margarine in a pan.
  5. Add onion and garlic; cook until tender.
  6. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  7. Set aside until ready to use.
  8. Pour over spareribs.
  9. Continue roasting, basting occasionally, about 1/2 hour or until spareribs are tender.
