Barbecued Spareribs
- 3 lb. spareribs
- 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 dashes hot sauce
- Place spareribs in shallow baking pan.
- Roast, uncovered, in a moderate oven at 350u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
- Pour off fat.
- Melt margarine in a pan.
- Add onion and garlic; cook until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Set aside until ready to use.
- Pour over spareribs.
- Continue roasting, basting occasionally, about 1/2 hour or until spareribs are tender.
