Green Bean Casserole
- 4 (10 oz.) pkg. French-cut green beans
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. grated onion
- 1/2 lb. grated Swiss cheese
- 1/2 c. cornflake crumbs
- 2 tsp. melted butter
- Cook green beans according to package until almost tender. Drain and set aside.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter.
- Add flour and cook until smooth.
- Remove from heat and add sour cream, sugar, salt and onion.
- Mix thoroughly; return to stove and cook until thickened.
- Combine sauce and beans.
- Place in buttered casserole. Sprinkle Swiss cheese over top.
- Combine cornflake crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, at 400u0b0 for 35 minutes.
- Serves 12.
