A Man'S Casserole
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. thin egg noodles
- 3 or 4 onions, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
- 2 lb. ground chuck
- 1 Tbsp. salad oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato or celery soup
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
- Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water.
- In large skillet, saute onion in margarine over medium flame; set aside.
- Brown meat in same skillet in oil over medium-high flame; drain.
- Add salt, pepper, thyme and sauteed onion to meat.
- Combine soup and milk.
- Arrange one-third of noodles, half of meat-onion mixture and half of soup mixture in layers in a greased 4-quart casserole.
- Repeat layers.
- Arrange remaining noodles on top.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake in 350u0b0 gas oven for 1 hour or until lightly browned.
- Yield:
- 8 large servings.
