Chinese Pepper Steak
- 1 1/2 lb. sirloin (1-inch thick)
- 1/4 c. Crisco oil
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 4 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 large green peppers, sliced
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 can water chestnuts
- 1/2 c. beef bouillon
- 1/4 c. cold water and 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed
- Cut steak into 1-inch strips and season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in skillet; add garlic and ginger.
- Saute until garlic is golden.
- Add steak slices and brown.
- Remove meat from skillet. Add peppers and onions.
- Saute until tender.
- Place meat back in skillet; add other ingredients and heat.
- Serve over rice and/or noodles.
