Applesauce Fruit Cake

  1. Cream butter; add warm applesauce.
  2. Add sour milk in which soda has been dissolved.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together and add to first mixture.
  4. Add fruits and nuts which have been dredged in flour.
  5. Add coconut and grated orange rind.
  6. Pour into well-greased and floured cake pan or 5 (1-pound) tins.
  7. Bake in very moderate oven (305u0b0 to 325u0b0) about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
