Clam Chowder(Soup)
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. minced pepper
- 2 c. diced potatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 small cans tomato juice
- 1 tsp. ground sage leaves
- 1/2 tsp. ground thyme leaves
- 1/2 to 1/4 tsp. black ground pepper
- less than 1/16 tsp. ground cayenne pepper (I use a pinch)
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 c. sliced celery
- 2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 or 3 (7 oz.) cans minced clams with liquid
- Saute onion, celery and green pepper in oleo or butter.
- Add potatoes, boiling water and salt; cover and cook until potatoes are tender.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- (I add some diced carrots for color.)
- Heat to boiling point serve.
