Chocolate Pie

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.
  2. Mix the flour, sugar and salt; stir into chocolate.
  3. Add the milk slowly, stirring constantly, until fully thickened, about 15 minutes. Beat the egg yolks well.
  4. Stir in a little of the chocolate into the eggs; then return to the hot mixture and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat and cool partially.
  6. Stir in vanilla.
  7. Pour into pie shell.
  8. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; then add 1/3 cup sugar until stiff.
  9. Swirl the meringue over the pie.
  10. Bake at 350u0b0 for 5 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
