Braised Sirloin Tips Over Rice Or Pasta

  1. Melt shortening in skillet; brown meat on all sides.
  2. Stir in consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion salt.
  3. Heat to boiling.
  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until meat is tender.
  5. Add water if necessary while cooking.
  6. Blend cornstarch and water; stir into meat mixture.
  7. Stir constantly until thickened.
  8. Pour over rice or pasta.
  9. Makes 6 servings.
