Fresh Pear Bread

  1. Pare, halve and core pears; chop to make 1 cup.
  2. In a large bowl, beat oil and sugar until blended.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time; add sour cream and vanilla.
  4. Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  5. Add to oil-sugar mixture and continue to beat until well blended.
  6. Add nuts and pears; mix well.
  7. Spoon into well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 1 hour.
  9. Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes.
  10. Turn out and cool on rack.
