Double Chocolate Brownies
- 1/2 c. margarine or butter
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Spray rectangular pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch, with spray cooking oil.
- Heat margarine and 1 cup chocolate chips in 3-quart saucepan over low heat until smooth.
- Stir in sugar, flour, vanilla, baking powder, salt and eggs until smooth.
- Stir in remaining chocolate chips.
- Spread in pan.
- Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
- Bake until center is set, about 30 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into bars, about 2 x 1 1/2-inch.
- Store tightly covered.
- Makes 36 brownies.
