Oriental Dinner

  1. Cut 1 pound steak (1/2-inch thick) into 2 x 1/2-inch strips. Brown in skillet in hot shortening.
  2. Add onion, green pepper strips and mushroom stems and pieces (drain, but save liquid). Cook until tender.
  3. Take off heat.
  4. Move meat mixture to one side. Stir flour into drippings.
  5. Stir in gradually 1/3 cup liquid drained from mushrooms and Pet milk.
  6. Stir over low heat until thick.
  7. Stir in 8 ounce can tomato sauce, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon vinegar, salt and Worcestershire sauce.
  8. Cover; cook over low heat 30 minutes.
  9. Serve over 3 cups cooked rice.
  10. Makes 4 servings.
