Delicious Stay Crisp Salad

  1. Mix cabbage, carrots, green pepper and onion; sprinkle with 1/2 cup cold water.
  2. Chill.
  3. Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.
  4. Mix sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper in saucepan; bring to boil.
  5. Stir in softened gelatin.
  6. Cool until slightly thickened; beat well.
  7. Gradually beat in salad oil.
  8. Drain vegetables; pour dressing over top.
  9. Mix lightly until well coated.
  10. May be served immediately or stored in refrigerator.
  11. Toss before serving. Serves 8.
