Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

  1. Use
  2. Sourdoughttarter
  3. directions.
  4. Bisquicktay
  5. be substituted
  6. for
  7. sourdough
  8. starter.
  9. Mix starter, milk and 1 cup flour
  10. in a large bowl.
  11. Cover this mixture and keep it in a warm place
  12. overnight.
  13. The
  14. next
  15. day turn the mixture out onto a breadboardtith
  16. 1
  17. cup flour and 1/3 cup shortening. Combine salt,
  18. sugar,
  19. baking
  20. powder
  21. andtakingtoda with remaining 1/2
  22. cup
  23. flour and sift over the top of dough.
  24. Mix dry ingredients
  25. into the soft dough, kneading lightly.
  26. Roll out 1/4-inch
  27. thick.
  28. Spread raisins, nuts and cinnamon sugar onto the rolled
  29. out
  30. dough.
  31. Rolltough
  32. into
  33. a long roll. Slice
  34. into 1-inch
  35. thick
  36. slices.
  37. Drop
  38. slices into boiling sauce (recipe follows).
  39. Fill
  40. the Dutch oven with rolls.
  41. To slow the
  42. baking process, pull away some of the coals, leaving coals on both the top and
  43. bottom.
  44. Bake
  45. about
  46. 30 minutes at medium heat.
