English Wedding Fruit Cake

  1. Cream sugar and shortening.
  2. Sift dry ingredients and set aside.
  3. Mix liquid ingredients and add to creamed mixture, alternating with dry ingredients.
  4. Add beaten eggs; mix well. Combine all chopped fruit and nuts; add to batter.
  5. Mix well! Cook at 250u0b0 for 4 hours, in pans lined with brown paper, well-greased.
  6. Makes a 10-pound wedding cake.
