4 In One Casserole
- 1 lb. mild bulk pork sausage
- 1 can sauerkraut (undrained), add about 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 apples, cored, peeled and sliced into 6 slices
- 2 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- paprika
- Form 6 patties of pork sausage and brown and cook thoroughly in skillet.
- Reserve about 2 tablespoons of drippings.
- Place apple slices on plate, covered with Saran Wrap.
- In microwave, cook until just soft.
- Save any juice.
- Prepare mashed potatoes (I use Betty Crocker Potato Buds.)
- Place the 6 sausage patties in casserole.
- Top with apple rings.
- Spread the undrained kraut over top.
- Add a little of sausage drippings and apple juice to the top of the kraut.
- Top with the mashed potatoes with a dab of butter over each patty section.
- Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 30 minutes.
