Peach Praline Shortcake
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. milk
- 4 c. sliced fresh peaches, sweetened
- 1 c. dairy sour cream
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- Measure flour, baking powder, salt and soda into bowl.
- Cut in 1/2 cup brown sugar and the shortening thoroughly until mixture looks like meal.
- Stir in pecans.
- Combine egg and milk; stir into flour mixture just until blended.
- Pat into greased round 8-inch layer pan.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
- Split shortcake while warm. Fill and top with peaches.
- Blend sour cream and a 1/2 cup brown sugar.
- Serve with shortcake.
