Purple Ribbon Chocolate Cake

• 2 c. flour
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1/2 c. boiling water
• 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
• 2/3 c. sour milk
• 1/2 c. shortening
• 1 c. white sugar
• 1 c. brown sugar
• 2 eggs, well beaten
• 1 tsp. vanilla

1. Mix flour, salt
2. and
3. soda
4. together;
5. set
6. aside.
7. Add boiling water to
8. chocolate
9. and
10. stir until chocolate is dissolved; set aside.
11. Cream shortening; add sugars gradually and cream together.
12. Add
13. eggstnd
14. beat well, then add chocolate mixture and blend.tdd
15. flour alternately with milk;
16. beating after each addition.
17. Add vanilla.take in layer pans in 350u0b0 oven for 30 minutes until done.
18. Cover with favorite frosting.
