Fresh Apple Pie

  1. Prepare double crust pie recipe; roll out 1/2 of dough.
  2. Place in 9-inch pie pan; set aside.
  3. Peel and slice apples into 6 sections, removing all of core.
  4. Sprinkle with lemon juice; set aside.
  5. Mix cornstarch, sugar, salt and cinnamon thoroughly; sprinkle over prepared apples and toss thoroughly.
  6. Arrange apple mixture in pie pan; dot with butter.
  7. Roll out top crust; cover apple filling.
  8. Cut slits in top center.
  9. Sprinkle top crust with flour-sugar mixture, then a slight sprinkle of water.
  10. Bake at 400u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
  11. Reduce heat to 350u0b0; continue to bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
