Reuben Loaf
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 c. caraway rye bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. sweet pickle relish
- 1/4 c. creamy Russian dressing
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 (14 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained
- 1 1/2 c. grated Swiss cheese
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a large bowl, combine meat, bread crumbs, egg, onion and seasonings.
- Work mixture with hands until blended.
- On a sheet of waxed paper, shape mixture into a 6 x 14-inch rectangle.
- Sprinkle with chopped sauerkraut and grated cheese, leaving a 1-inch border around all edges.
- Starting with narrow end, roll mixture jelly roll fashion.
- Seal edges.
- Place in a shallow baking dish and bake for 45 minutes.
- Serves 6.
